Riverstones Gallery

Wes’ Chip Wagon
A local favourite, a 'chip truck connoisseur' reports: when a friend told me about the "BEST chips ever", I was skeptical. Needless to say, a fellow foodie and I traveled out to Arnprior last weekend to give these chips a go. The truck in question: Wes' Fries. The long line of people was a good sign as is the fact that there is nothing else on the menu but chips! We each ordered a large chips and waited a few minutes before the order was "Half way" ready. By ordering your chips "Half way" you get the chance to add your magic blend of ketchup, vinegar and salt to the bottom half of the chips before the rest of the box is stocked with tasty goodness!
To say the fries were perfect is an understatement! The chips were golden brown, crispy on the outside and were hot and moist on the inside. EACH and EVERY one of them... even the last chip in the bottom of the box! No soggy, greasy chips here! DEFINITELY worthy of the label BEST CHIPS EVER! I can't wait to go back!

Barr Lumber
Most city sources of firewood have a tiny bag for +$7. There are lots of places around White Lake who sell ‘firewood' (watch for signs), and they are good.
However, by far, the BEST deal is at Barr Lumber. They have wood that is cut to an ideal size. You do the loading (and unloading) and the price is based on your vehicle size. If you like big dogs, Charlie the Newf will keep you company while you load. Enjoy all the campfires you want, at an unbeatable price.
Directions from White Lake Village, head towards Arnprior (on White Lake Rd), take a right on Highland Rd to Waba, Drive for 8 minutes, Right on Concession 10 Rd, drive for 2 minutes, lumber yard is on the left, first go to house before on left, see Harry and/or read instructions on the door and make payment (wood yard is 25m further down the road on the left).
